Laban Theatre and Lizzi Kew Ross present Without Warning at The Old Vic Tunnels - 31 Jan - 11 Feb.

This contemporary dance and music piece is inspired by Brian Keenan’s An Evil Cradling; memoir of his four and a half years in captivity as a hostage in Lebanon.

Without Warning brings together light, sound and movement exploring the anguish of what it is to be relegated to the status of ‘meat’ and, yet, how both the mind and spirit can still find ways to claw back reality and meaning.

Voice, strings and percussion become a conduit for rage and resistance, playing out the erratic states of euphoria, ridiculousness, compassion and uncertainty.

An audience wit Brian Keenan
The Old Vic Tunnels and Without Warning Company are very pleased to have Brian Keenan with us and reading extracts from his new book, to be published in Autumn 2012.

Seventeen years after his release as a hostage, Brian Keenan returned to Beirut, a city he describes as “a place where angels fear to tread”. This new book is his response to that journey.
