We are pleased to announce the first exhibition in an exciting collaboration between Dutch gallery Van Loon & Simons and Gallery DIFFERENT:

David Begbie (U.K.)
discovered the particular properties of steelmesh as an art student in 1977. Since then his work has been exhibited globally and has been an enormous inspiration to many people, including architects, designers, photographers, world of theatre and dance and collectors as well as to other artists and his work has been imitated worldwide.
David Begbie is the master of his medium and his work speaks for itself. The mesh is transparent and hardly exists at all, yet it has as a much greater physical presence than any conventional solid form.

Hans Grootswagers (NL)
translates the non mundane into the identifiable. Reality and fiction are interwoven to subsequently merge in ways not always readily perceivable: Mass and volume are allocated new dimensions, making for extraordinary sculptures inspired by abstractions from the world of emotions. This preference for suggested 'spatiality and volumes' results in a fascinating object over which to contemplate.

Kees Salentijn (NL)
is among the Netherlands’ most prominent painters. The initial inspiration leading to his mature style came from post-war American art, including Jackson Pollock, Robert Rauschenberg and Jasper Johns: Drawings in pencil, ink, brush, gouache, acrylic paint on canvas, collage or a combination of all of these with a diversity of graphics.
