“In Celebration!”, a series of events specially devised to allow audiences to meet distinguished personalities from the worlds of arts & entertainment and to enjoy informed conversations & performances within one of London’s most historic and beautiful buildings. All guests will also enjoy light refreshments and gain VIP entry to private showings of the museum’s latest exhibition on the evening of each event.

International award winning poet, author, actor, director and screenwriter, Leo Aylen has performed his vibrant and critically acclaimed work in theatres and on radio and television in three continents and in venues ranging from The Albert Hall and St Paul's Cathedral to New York night clubs, Californian coffee bars and Soweto Arts Centres!

His skills are legendary and his reputation immense with his work having been included in over 100 important anthologies.

Leo Aylen has been described as "technically brilliant, exuberantly sincere and marvellously entertaining" by author Anthony Burgess, and as "Virile, vital, virtuosic" by actor and director, Simon Callow. Melvyn Bragg wrote about the Leo’s new book as follows:

“The visceral intellectualism with which he attacks his subjects is exemplified in The Day the Grass Came which defines an ambitious work — and triumphs. The shorter poems are just as impressive.”

Now you have the opportunity to join Leo for what promises to be a truly extraordinary event at which he will perform some of his most celebrated poems as well as brand new material from his most recently published collection – ‘The Day The Grass Came.’

Early booking is advised for this unique and important celebration of the work of one of our country's leading poets and most captivating personalities.

Tickets include VIP entry to the Museum's latest exhibition, with
the performance beginning at 7.30 promptly.
