Jazz Poetry Improv Ensemble brings together performance poetry and free jazz. Beat Generation Poetry, black poetry and original poetry in French, Hindi and English. The musicians improvise around the voice to create the sonic atmosphere that the context and the tone of the poems call for. Each performance is unique, entirely improvised in the moment. The poems are fun and the music runs the gamut from blues to jazz to funk to free jazz.
