Open City London Architecture Tours: East End Transformation

Just east of London's financial district marks the
start of the East End, once a scruffy hinterland. The urban character of Whitechapel and beyond has in recent years been undergoing a transformation.

Canary Wharf with its large US-style office buildings, whilst nearby Trinity Buoy Wharf is an artist community made of recycled shipping containers. Mile End’s ‘High Street 2012’ will see further improvements in the run up to the London 2012 Olympics whilst the construction of the games venues and infrastructure in Stratford is well underway in preparation.
