What are you searching for? What do you fear? What are they?

Mr. and Mrs. Boles in a seaside house - a ravening wife and a taciturn husband, along with the dispirited Stanley Webber. Two new visitors: the glorious Mr. Goldberg and the sentimental Mr. McCann. Oh, don’t forget Lulu from the neighborhood. They are holding a party here tonight, that’s right, it’s Stanley’s birthday today!

Oh yes, everything’s laid on……

We present one of Harold Pinter’s best-known plays; a disturbing drama combining pithy humour, physical menace and sustained tension. Text and subtext, ambiguous identities, everyday language and an obscure sense of dread are juxtaposed as our production explores concepts underlying the play's surface symbolism while focusing on Stanley and his sufferings.

The Assassin Drama Group is a London based Chinese student drama group founded in 2010 which draws inspiration from the Theatre of the Absurd. Each and every one of us is incurably in love with the theatrical arts, striving to grasp our own philosophy and working style.

Following the huge success of last year’s production, The Assassin (a Chinese play set in the Warring-States Period where the two counselors of a defeated king choose between loyalty and morality ) we bring you Harold Pinter’s The Birthday Party - in our own memorable style of acting. Come and join us for a most enthralling experience on April Fools’ Day to see how the birthday party turns out to be a nightmare!
