Cognitive Dissonance PR, in association with Cafe Music Studios and Supernormal Festival, are thrilled to present Symbiosis; a project dedicated to uncovering the most exciting things going on in new music in 2012.

We asked our favourite passionate proponents of new music to nominate their top up and coming bands, with the criteria that they must be unsigned and have never recorded in a professional studio. We will be showcasing these bands at a series of live events between March – June at the Urban Bar in Whitechapel. The top act from each night will play together at a final in July, with the overall winner being offered free mixing and mastering at Cafe Music Studios, free PR from CogDiss and a slot at Supernormal Festival in August.

We are thrilled to announce that the line-up for the first event will be:

Itchy Teeth
Itchy Teeth are Xav, Charlie, Oli and Jon. The four piece who are from London, make summery 60s influenced dreamy pop. Real classic British sounds with catchy tunes with a retro edge.

Mothers of the Third Reich
It’s sort of like metal, except metal kind of failed to make a sound that made you feel like your skin was being peeled away by pointy cockroaches (at least since black metal, circa ’95). They’re definitely a duo, it may well be improvised and it sure as shit sounds improbably like a post-fatal bus accident Sun Ra in a mood to break kittens.

Pepper & Shepherd
Tony & James make Lo-fi pop folk and like custard creams. Formed in 2009 Pepper and Shepherd have performed all over the UK including The Great Escape 2010, Camden Lockstock Festival 2009 and 2010 and appeared on Recharged Radio and Balcony TV.

Three Colours
Their music fuses grooves and harmony from seemingly disparate genres, creating a sound both unique and engaging. Latin rhythms travel hand-in-hand with post-rock guitar riffs before being bullied out of the way by earth-shattering drops, more reminiscent of Benga than Radiohead.

It's free entry and promises to be an exceptional night, so don't miss it!
