Young blues sensation, Mitch Laddie, takes to the road this Spring with iconic blues maestro Walter Trout (John Mayall, John Lee Hooker, Canned Heat), Stan Webb, Oli Brown and others.

Playing a series of dates throughout the UK in the upcoming months, Mitch combines elements of jazz, funk and pop along with the blues to create a sound that’s uniquely his own. He plays five shows with Walter and later some with blues guitarist Oli Brown, as well as the 100 Club with Stan Webb and The Stables with Virgil and the Accelerators. He also headlines his own gigs in between.

Mitch Laddie’s career can be traced back to the old showbiz saying ‘break a leg’ because that’s exactly how it all started for him.

Forced to spend time in hospital at the age of 12 he whiled away the hours learning to play guitar seriously. His father would bring him in a new piece on each visit and Mitch would go for it. But he had been listening to country music from the age of two, his Grandfather was a fan, and he was already used to playing along.

Mitch was attracted to the blues almost immediately. “Players like Stevie Ray Vaughan really pulled me over to the blues; I mean the emotion he displays in his playing is extraordinary. The older guys too, players like Albert Collins and BB. King can flatten you with one note, you know? You just don’t get that with a lot of other types of music. It can really hit you hard.”

Mitch’s three piece band evolved from the 2006 outfit Vanilla Moon becoming The Mitch Laddie Trio in 2008. Born in Newcastle and still based in the North, he first met Walter Trout at a gig in Sunderland in 2006. Since then he has joined Walter on various dates as well as headlining his own solo gigs, playing festivals and motor racing shows, and building a steadily growing fan base across the UK and Europe.

Signing to his first label at the age of 16, Mitch released his debut album two years later, ‘This Time Around’.

Mitch Laddie, now 21, releases his second album ‘Burning Bridges’ on March 26th 2012 on the Mystic label.
