Cuban & Latin Salsa Party - El Rumbon Cubano 4th Anniversary BIG Party

El Rumbon Cubano - one of London’s original Cuban dance parties – celebrates its 4th anniversary on Friday 13th April with non-stop Cuban music from 8.30pm – 4am and a very special dance class - Salsa Con Contratiempo - taught by Amarilys Pons Mesa, principal dancer from Cuban hit shows Havana Rakatan and Tropicana.

As well as live music from one of London’s best Cuban bands - Timbache lead by female firebrand vocalist Yuri Moreno, the party features two top Cuban DJs - Javier 'la Maquina de Cuba' from Havana and DJ Green Papi (Oriente Star Sound) from Guantanamo, who’ll be on the decks until 4am playing salsa, timba, reggaeton, bachata and much more!

Cuban lead singer Yuri is the dynamic whirlwind who helps set Timbache on fire. Born in Santiago de Cuba, she debuted as a singer aged just 12 and worked with a number of groups in Cuba before moving to London. This superb vocalist is also an accomplished guitar player and has performed at numerous prestigious venues including Ronnie Scott’s and the Royal Festival Hall.

Salsa Con Contratiempo Workshop: 9 -10 pm
With Amarilys Pons Mesa – ex Havana Rakatan & Tropicana (Cuba)
The class will look at the essence, elegance, organic movement and rhythms of the dance, at the complex polyrhythmic timings, and at respect for the clave. It will feature a mix of the fundamental Cuban dance steps including Rumba, Cha Cha Cha and Son all of which add to the appealing blend of movements that form an interesting, vibrant and attractive salsa performance.
This will be a fascinating and challenging class and is only suitable for strong Intermediate and Advanced level dancers.

To keep guests well refreshed there's a Happy Hour at the bar right up until 11pm with 2 cocktails for £6 - including the special El Rumbon Cubano cocktail, plus offers on beers, spirits & mixers.
