D&D London’s Blueprint Café has teamed up with McQueens, the pioneering London florists, to offer an exclusive series of masterclasses at the restaurant this summer.

The series of three classes will be held in the wonderfully inspiring setting of the Blueprint Café terrace overlooking the river (weather permitting) and will be hosted by Duncan McCabe, senior tutor at McQueens’ renowned Clerkenwell flower school.

McCabe has designed the collection of classes especially for Blueprint Café, to give a taster of the Flower School and to focus on contemporary techniques in flower design. Places for each workshop can be booked singularly, though they are designed as a trio of classes to provide participants with broader picture of McQueens’ quite singular approach to flower design. The fun and informal classes will also include advice on flower care, purchasing and how to get the best out of your flowers.

Tickets for each event costs £45 per person and is inclusive of the masterclass, an aperitif and a delicious three-course seasonal lunch at Blueprint Café. Bookings can be made online at www.blueprintcafe.co.uk/calendar

Class One
11.30am, Saturday 19th May – ‘Design for the Home’
This class will focus on a range of simple yet stunning designs suitable for in and around the home and will cover some of the basic fundamentals of flower design.

Class Two
11.30am, Saturday 16th June – ‘Design for Entertaining’
Gorgeous table centre ideas - perfect for those with a passion for flowers and who like to take entertaining seriously.

Class Three
11.30am, Saturday 21st July – ‘Design for Celebration’
This special masterclass will explore a range of signature designs demonstrating how McQueens has earned and kept its place at the cutting edge of contemporary English floral design.

McQueens has been a pioneer in the new English style of floristry since 1991. McQueens’ flagship store and flower school is based in Clerkenwell, central London, attracting clients and studens from all over the world. McQueens enjoys an enviable international reputation, as evidenced by their styling for the glittering Vanity Fair post-Academy Awards party. Their philosophy is to use the finest raw ingredients and the latest skills, but to ‘keep it simple’ – a philosophy that could not resonate more with the team at Blueprint Café.
