Following their sell-out performance in Bloomsbury in March, acclaimed London chamber choir Londinium are delighted to be repeating their concert 'Hidden Voices: The World of Johannes Brahms' in South-East London in support of St Augustine’s Living Heritage Fund. Londinium explore the hidden world of Brahms’s choral music – including the exquisite, elusive 'Fünf Gesänge' op.104 and the virtuosic 'Fest- und Gedenksprüche' – alongside early music from Brahms’s personal library, by Eccard and Schütz, and works by his close friend Robert Schumann and his contemporary Peter Cornelius. The concert also includes the performance of a new work by Timothy Burke: 'Distanz und ein bestimmtes Licht', which was inspired by Brahms’s 'Fünf Gesänge' and written especially for this concert programme.
