John Lazenby 36 Hour Summer Singathon in aid of the Lily Foundation

Summer Singathon in aid of the Lily Foundation.

I will be undertaking a marathon task this August. I will be taking on the personal challenge of singing under supervision non stop for 36 hours to raise money for Surrey based charity the Lily Foundation.

The Lily Foundation was founded in October 2007, following Lily's death to Mitochondrial Disease earlier that year. When Lily was diagnosed, her parents, Liz and Dave tried to understand, however were overwhelmed by an abundance of medical and scientific literature and still felt as if they we knew nothing. They felt completely alone.

After her death, Liz’s brother-in-law and Lily's uncle, celebrity Jonathan Pearce spoke about setting up The Lily Foundation.

The Lily Foundation is committed to finding a cure for Mitochondrial Disease and other metabolic disorders through funding research and providing support to those involved and affected by metabolic disorders. You can read more about the Lily Foundation on thelilyfoundation.org.uk

I will be undertaking this task at the Arc 39 Weston Drive Caterham from 8pm on Saturday the 18th August to 8am on Monday the 20th August. I aim to raise £3,600 which is equivalent to £100 per hour of singing. If you wish to attend the event to give me support and encouragement you can do so. There is an entry charge of £5 which will also go to the Lily Foundation. There is a Bistro and Bar and there will be room for you to dance whilst John sings if you want to. You can enjoy yourself whilst supporting a very worthy local charity.
