A new satirical comedy takes aim at the Coalition government.
Meet the Rt Hon Samuel Hirst MP, the hapless Lib Dem who is given a ministerial position in the new Coalition cabinet. With the support of his devoted wife and loyal policy advisor, Sam is all ready to join a new era of consensus politics. Soon however, the cuts begin to bite, and Sam realises working under the domineering Tory Home Secretary isn't as easy as he'd anticipated. As major differences arise, Sam suffers a crisis of conscience and the whole unity of the Coalition is thrown into the spotlight.
Political satire gets a makeover with 'Coalition' - a new play about the inner workings of a government department. Following in the footsteps of BBC hits like 'Yes, Prime Minister' and 'The Thick of It' comes this amusing and insightful look down the corridors of power. For the politically minded or electorally disenchanted this irreverent and fast moving roller coaster through a Lib Dem conscience is not to be missed!
