Those visiting the Zoffany exhibition at the RA on 21st May can enjoy free entry to the Remember the Person exhibition. The exhibition is being organised by the RA and Alzheimer's Society as part of national Dementia Awareness Week™ 2012, and will take place in the gallery's Fine Rooms from 1-4pm. There will be a display of artwork by people with dementia and an opportunity for visitors to support Dementia Awareness Week by completing their own 'remember the person' poster. Staff from the RA and Alzheimer's Society will be on hand to talk about the exhibition, and there will also be information about dementia available.

This Dementia Awareness Week™ Alzheimer’s Society is encouraging people to ‘remember the person’ by looking beyond someone’s diagnosis and engaging with them. The charity is helping people to learn more about dementia by promoting five things everyone should know – key lessons include dementia is not a natural part of ageing and it’s possible to live well with dementia. Alzheimer's Society’s ‘Dementia Awareness Week™’ is being held in partnership with Saga Homecare. Saga Homecare, which is part of the larger Saga group, provides care at home for people who want to maintain their independence and stay in their own homes.
