This June, treat your dad to the perfect Father's Day gift - a cooking masterclass at Pan-Asian restaurant Gilgamesh, hosted by its renowned head chef, Ian Pengelley. The masterclass has something for everyone, from budding chefs eager to expand their cooking expertise, to novices who need their culinary skills whipped into shape.

The day kicks off with a glass of champagne and a tour of the impressive, two storey, Camden restaurant. Guests will then be kitted out in chef whites, before learning to create an array of tasty dishes from the Gilgamesh menu. Master the art of preparing sushi and dim sum before enjoying a delicious lunch cooked by Gilgamesh's talented chefs.

The afternoon continues with hands-on kitchen demonstrations, Dads will be taught technical skills such as filleting fish, as well as receiving tips on how to present food beautifully. Plus a lesson in how to make the perfect Mojito to accompany their creations. The masterclass finishes with the chance for guests to enjoy the fruits of their labour, as they tuck into the dishes they’ve prepared. With only 10 students per session, classes have an intimate feel with everyone receiving a high level of personal instruction from Ian.

Critically acclaimed chef Ian Pengelley discovered his passion for Asian food, whilst living in Hong Kong and enjoys sharing this with others. After training in Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam and China, Ian returned to the UK to work in a number of leading restaurants. In 2006 he embarked on his biggest project to date, opening Gilgamesh restaurant. An influential character in the kitchen, Ian was recently featured putting the competing chefs through their paces on the last series of BBC's Masterchef.

Ian's masterclasses take place on the last Saturday of each month, the next date is Saturday 30th June between 12pm-6pm. Classes are priced at £200 plus VAT per person.
