Olympic Opening Ceremony Screening Party at the Water Poet Spitalfields

Love them or hate them, the Olympics are HAPPENING, and we’ll be kicking them off in TRUE WATER POET STYLE, with a massive Opening Ceremony Screening Party on Friday 27th July, from 6pm.

All week we’ll be replacing our usual fabulous ales with a seriously exciting selection of our favourite brewers’ Olympic offerings, and YOU’LL have the final vote on who wins the gold - a coveted guest spot on our pumps during the Games. Will it be ADNAMS Flame Runner, TRUMAN'S Clean & Jerk or YOUNG's London Gold? Let the ballot box decide!

Not only will we be showing the Ceremony on our NINE FANTASTIC SCREENS (including Dolby surround sound cinema), but we’ll be filling the pub with games for you to try your hands at, including OLYM-PING PONG, OLYMPIC SIZED POOL and any other game we can shoehorn the word Olympics into... Olymp-ictionary anyone?!

As always, costumes are both encouraged and rewarded, so come as your country, favourite ever athlete, chosen game, or farmyard animal (thank Danny Boyle for that one!)

The Olympic games live from East London will be splashed across all NINE of our huge screens from 28 July - 12 August 2012, making The Water Poet one of the best venues to watch a game outside of the Olympic stadium.
