Celebrate World Mental Health Day with CoolTan Arts Largactyl Shuffle Sponsored Walk

Celebrate World Mental Health Day by joining arts in mental health charity CoolTan Arts on a Sponsored Walk on the 13th October 2012, starting at 11.45am from Maudsley Hospital (Lambeth, London Borough of Lambeth, SE5 8AZ), and finishing at Tate Modern 4.8 miles later. The event will be a fun guided cultural walk for mental and physical wellbeing. Help raise money to keep CoolTan Arts open and helping people with mental distress. Everyone is welcome!
Our What’s in a Name? – BRANDED Sponsored Walk will include talks, discussion and performance exploring how labels and branding can create stigma against those with mental distress and will help to raise much needed funds for CoolTan Arts. Have a fun day out, raise money and meet new people!

All the money you raise by sponsorship enables CoolTan Arts to continue to supporting people though creative arts workshops, walks and self-advocacy training.
Once registered, you can choose to be sponsored by friends and family. CoolTan Arts can provide you with a sponsorship form or you can set up a page on http://www.justgiving.com/cooltanarts.

The whole walk is suitable for people with disabilities and wheel chair users – do as much as you can. Our friendly CoolTan guides will be there to help you. Along the way there will be breaks, poetry readings and other surprises. The walk finishes with a reception and refreshments at Tate Modern: an opportunity to relax and get to know each other.

Please bring a packed lunch and drinks, wear suitable clothes and sensible footwear.
