The Gutter Brothers – ‘Fifty Shades of Skiffle’
Gutter Brothers founder member Dennis Johnson, used to have the nickname 'The Camden Crusher' . The name came from the the fact that he boxed for the Navy when he was a teenager and lived in a council flat in Camden for many years - which incidentally, was where the band got together to write most of the early material.

Vocalist Tony Green lived nearby in a fairly notorious squat by Euston Tower called the Vicarage – The Gutter Brothers made their debut there, performing at the frequent parties there.

Under such a background the band had written many film soundtracks and TV themes, including shows such as Only Fools and Horses, and Harry Enfield and Chums.

The band have reformed for they’re ‘Fifty Shades of Skiffle’ tour, to celebrate the release of two back catalogue CDs on iTunes.
The Gutter Brothers are back.

The band once described as ‘The loudest band in skiffle’ by none other than Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson! are back with their infectious style of fusion rock, for a series of gigs around the UK in October.

A Gutter Brothers gig is a joyous occasion – the infectious energy and enthusiasm of the band is guaranteed to get feet moving. Larger than life front man Tony Green with his whiskey-fags-and-gravel New Orleans drawl adds a swampy southern feel to the genre hopping style of the material, from rock to funk to country to blues to ska, vividly animating the slice of life lyrics in every song.
