7.30pm
The duo of bandoneon and guitar “The Tango” began its journey at the end of 2010 when the paths of the Argentine bandoneonista Orlando di Bello and Catalan guitarist Carles Pons joined forces. This unusual formation, quickly achieved success amongst critics and public, and they have played at numerous music festivals such as III International Festival of guitar in Hendaye (France), 11th Festival international de music de Rialp in the Pyrenees and the 12th cycle of concerts de Palautordera (Barcelona). The repertoire is entirely devoted to the American music such as tangos, modern tangos, milongas and huellas.

Valencian guitarist José Luis Ruiz is one of the leading classical guitarists in his home country and a specialist in new Spanish music. He has commissioned and performed numerous new works for his instrument. José will be playing two new works in this recital. José is also a much sought after tutor and the Director of the prestigious Alhambra International Guitar Competition which is one of the most important in the world.
