Leading the 2012 field will be Magnus Carlsen, who has now held the esteemed world number one position for over a year, despite being only 21 years old. He will be joined by leading chess players from around the globe including Viswanathan Anand from India, fresh from another successful defence of his World Chess Champion title, and the strongest female chess player in history, Hungarian Judit Polgar.
Chess in Schools and Communities (CSC) the charity host will also put on a ‘chess festival’ at the event including five days of free activities, lessons from chess Grandmasters and tournaments. Ideal for parents to bring their children to Olympia for lessons from grandmasters and other experts.
