Firefighters from the UK and the rest of the world compete in a series of simulated rescue scenarios: rescuing casualties from crushed cars, from under collapsed buildings, from the water and from other precarious positions or treating serious trauma victims before the arrival of paramedics – all in high pressure environment, where the clock is ticking and every second counts.
Teams turn up to an incident in the same way they do in real life: with no idea what to expect and they have to work together and put their combined knowledge and skills to the test and rescue the victims in the best possible way.
If that isn’t enough pressure, teams are judged on a number of factors, which we expect crews to perform on the incident ground in real life. These highly skilled men and women are paving the way for better rescue standards worldwide.
