Mainstage:

BackBeat Soundsystem

8-piece funk reggae outfit Backbeat Sound System are a band laden with groove, their up-tempo song craft drawing from numerous influences in creation of a tight, elated sun-clasped sound. Since forming in the charming Cornish idyll of St Austell, Backbeat have been smashing up stages all across the UK. Backbeat Sound System transcend genre limitations - this is original sound, groovy and affecting. Over their three debut EPs, the band have honed a bass-led party sound that is as infectious as it is sonically interesting. On record, they use the full potential of the studio to craft a highly dynamic approach to recording, spacious multi-tracking and arrangements making the best of the format - but live, they are a different beast. The ‘serious pop’ songs’ inherent strengths come to the fore and explode in a haze of onstage energy and pumping rhythm.

JJ SOUL -

Poeticat -

'There's a touch of Lily Allen to Catherine Martindale's propulsive poems, which she performs with a band as Poeticat over ethereal, folky guitars and pulsing Peruvian cajon drumming. Her hilarious tales of West London life are told in a tumble of words and pop culture references.'

Anna Pancaldi

Anna Pancaldi has been described as 'a musical gem', with 'star quality' by the judging panel of Live and Unsigned 2011. In performing at the grand final at the O2 indigo Anna received praise from BBC Radio 1 presenter, Tom Deacon, as having a 'sweet and soulful' voice.
Anna was inspired to pursue music having grown up in a musical family and has been performing every since she can remember. Movi
ng to Cape Town, South Africa in 2001, played an invaluable role in building her confidence and breaking through her debilitating stage fright.

Moving back to the UK in 2004, Anna studied a National Diploma in Music Practice and pursued music performing in venues around Essex and Suffolk, in theatres, charity events, music festivals and local BBC radio stations.

Host:

Hosted By Cord the Seeker

I've hosted and organised many events including Hub RPM, which takes overarching themes like consumption, revolution etc and we use film, discussion and music to give a little food for thought and entertain.

I've run and hosted open mic nights and atrist showcases for unsigned talent. I write blogs for the Vibes and Pressure blogsite as well as for Silentflute. I also mentor.

I believe that you dont have 2 tell people what that need to know, but rather inspire them to seek knowledge.
