Featuring music by two of America’s greatest and most interesting twentieth century composers: Igor Stravinsky and John Adams, City of London Sinfonia are joined by Principal Conductor Michael Collins as both conductor and soloist, for what promises to be a typically energetic performance by the orchestra.

Stravinsky’s Octet has become one of his most influential chamber works and was inspired by a dream, as was John Adams’ Grand Pianola Music in which he found himself driving down Interstate 5, being approached by two of the world’s longest Steinways! His Gnarly Buttons is his concerto for clarinet and small orchestra, originally premiered by Michael Collins, who performs it once again with the Orchestra.

Free pre concert talk with Principal Conductor Michael Collins at 6.45pm when he'll discuss working with the composer John Adams.
