Private Peaceful - film premiere

Based on the bestselling novel by War Horse writer Michael Morgpurgo, Private Peaceful is the story of the unbreakable bond between two brothers from their childhood in rural Devon to the battle fields of the First World War.

When young Tommo Peaceful (George Mackay, The Best of Men, Defiance) volunteers to fight, his protective older brother Charlie (Jack O’Connell, Skins, This is England) follows him to Flanders. But it is here that both experience the brutal nature of war, far removed from family life and their rivalry for the love of Molly Monks (Alexandra Roach, Anna Karenina, The Iron Lady).

Featuring an all-star British cast including Richard Griffiths (Harry Potter, The History Boys), Frances de la Tour (Alice in Wonderland,Hugo), John Lynch (Sliding Doors) and Maxine Peake (Silk), Private Peaceful is a searingly powerful and emotional tale of adolescence, heroism and fierce family loyalties which would never be broken.
