Club Skaaville & Jazzmo'thology & Hya Ites hosting 'Wha' Gwaan' in a double celebration of Poetry and Heritage on Thursday 04 October @ Bar 414, Brixton!

Hya Ites is our wonderfully chatty host who actually paints with words… Hya will be responsible for conducting and synchronizing the on-stage performances. She’s a warm and friendly community radio presenter and fashion designer who has acquired extensive media experience.

Wha' Gwaan is all set to deliver lyrical notes with performances by poets including the highly respected Niles 'Asheber' Hailstones and El Crisis, well known for his dynamic' Word Power and Sound' style of rhythmic poetry & music.

Niles Hailstones is founder and bandleader of Asheber & The Afrikan Revolution featuring many of the most innovative and influential grassroots musicians and teachers ever gathered in one place within the UK. The idea - Asheber & The Afrikan Revolution - represents a universal oneness in consciousness from an Afrikan base using both the creative arts and education as the core principles upon which all else is based.

The Revolution Is Now, Come We Go!....

El Crisis is a vibrant poet, musician and writer. Possessing a voice of staggering range and depth, he effortlessly crosses over the lyrical dimensions between Folk, Blues, Hip Hop, and Reggae. El Crisis is well known on the spoken word circuit as an exponent of the ‘Word, Power and Sound’ vocal style, establishing a reputation as one of the most unique and dynamic voices in poetry.

Look out for 'Speed Pan' ft steel pannist Brent Holder on Thursday 11th October.
