Something we don't talk about.
A story about bodies, breasts, bananas, war, sex and toilet cubicles. A story I am excited and nervous to tell. Part poetry-gig, part storytelling, part theatre. I hope you get comfy.
"you should feel more tired now"
"it might be hard to sleep now"
"stop eating cheese now"
"don't look down now"
"try to sit down now"
"remember to relax".
Maybe you were thinking that?
Lots of us do it. Lots of us give advice. Lots of us cry. Lots of us feel isolated. Lots of us laugh. A lot. But still, we just don't seem to talk about it.
Spoken word poet Hollie McNish gives an insight into closed doors and nighttimes many rarely share. From civil war to public toilets, she invites us into a collection of scattered poems written during the scariest and most beautiful change of her life so far.
Scratch allows artists to test ideas and get audience feedback. Come explore and be the first to discover the future of theatre.
