Top foodie line-up announced for Friday Night Socials
at The National Café

Following the huge success of the first few Friday Night Socials at The National Café, Oliver Peyton has lined up an incredible new list of top chefs and passionate foodies to take charge of his kitchen for this newly established weekly event. Fast becoming the new place for Londoners to kick off their weekends, Friday Night Socials brings together those from the creative and hospitality industries and anyone with a serious interest in food, for evenings of brilliant food, interesting conversation and something a little different every week.

The new schedule of events includes:

Friday 26th Oct
Inn the Park’s new Head Chef Tom Catley, (previously of Ottolenghi and Nobu) presents an evening of Thai street food.

Friday 2nd Nov
Fusing food and art, Catalan cooking expert Rachel McCormack creates a 17th century Spanish banquet inspired by art currently on display in The National Gallery.

Friday 9th Nov
One of the UK best loved chefs, Michelin-starred Angela Hartnett whips up a Moroccan spread, served family style.

Friday 16th Nov
Cook and food writer Sabrina Ghayour offers a ‘Mezze’ style menu, celebrating her Persian roots and the best Eastern flavours.

Friday 23rd Nov
Dhruv Baker, the 2010 winner of BBC One’s MasterChef focuses on spices, delivering a menu that is big on flavours via a selection of small plates.

Friday 30th Nov
From cheese to bacon, explore all the foodie delights goat has to offer with The Guardian’s Bob Granleese.

Tickets cost just £25 per person, including dinner and a cocktail on arrival, plus a selection of interesting and affordable wines is also available to choose from. Diners can sit on separate tables or communally as they choose, and for those that want to get involved, there is always ample opportunities to quiz the evening’s hosts and guest speakers, and bounce around ideas with fellow diners.

Oliver comments: “The National Gallery is an amazing space and I wanted to use it to create a convivial experience that unites the best elements of the London dining scene: spectacular food, wine and cocktails, interesting conversation, culture, together with passionate and talented people. Friday Nights Socials are the foodie equivalent of an open-mic night: you never know what might happen and that’s part of the fun. I’m very open to suggestions for future events, so if you have an idea I want to hear from you!”

Following this jam-packed line-up, Friday Night Socials will take a festive break during December before commencing again in January with even more exciting names to kick-start 2013.
