With its stunning riverside location, opulent surroundings and consummate cuisine, Blue Elephant is the perfect choice at any time. This New Year’s Eve however it is leaving no stone unturned in its desire to lay on a celebration without equal.

Chef Noroor Somany Steppe, the award-winning founder of the Blue Elephant group, has worked with Chef Surapol, Chef Srisak and their team to produce the ultimate feast. Combining authentic Thai recipes with bespoke creations, there can be no better way to welcome in 2013.

The scene is set with a fine selection of hors-d'œuvres, including Thong Koong Kiew Wan (crisp golden pastry stuffed with minced prawns and chicken).

Starters are equally as mouthwatering, featuring such delicacies as Seang Wa Pla Pa Trout Pu Nim (spicy smoked trout and soft shell crab served with a fresh herb salad and golden tamarind dressing) and Hoy Shell Sauce Hed Truffle (seared scallops with black pepper, lemongrass sauce and a hint of black truffle).

There then follows a choice of soups that include Tom Yam Koong Oolong Cha, spicy prawn flavoured with Thai herbs and OoLong Tea from the Royal Project Farm, a programme which supports various agricultural initiatives in Thailand.

Next comes the appropriately named Highlight of the Deep Sea - half a grilled lobster marinated with garlic butter, green peppercorn and fresh coriander.

Onto the main courses, inclusive of such standouts as Kaeng Kee Lek (Scottish rib eye beef seared in the ancient style) and Pla Cod Makham (grilled black cod marinated with Thai herbs wrapped in banana leaves accompanied by sweet tamarind and spicy sauces).

Bringing this gastronomic extravaganza to a close is a selection of chef’s special desserts, raspberry macaroons and black sticky rice with water chestnut & coconut cream among them.

Once this banquet has drawn to a close, guests can dance the night away as a top DJ spins some suitably atmospheric tunes on the first floor. A raffle will also offer the chance to win fabulous prizes, including meals at Blue Elephant and equally stylish sibling La Porte des Indes and hampers filled with amazing Blue Elephant products.

The price of Blue Elephant’s New Year’s Eve Menu is just £99 per head (or £80 per person without the lobster), inclusive of a glass of champagne to welcome in the New Year.

The restaurant is also offering an equally spectacular vegetarian menu, again priced at £99 per head (or £80 per person without the optional middle course of grilled portobello mushroom).
