Marriott London Sevens invites you on Safari

The England Rugby Sevens team is calling fans to join them on Safari and roar them on at this year’s Marriott London Sevens on the 11th-12th May 2013 at Twickenham.

With the HSBC Sevens World Series already in full flow, with some surprising results already, London promises to be full of drama, action and excitement as the series builds to a spectacular finale. After the hugely successful London 2012 games, Rugby Sevens is now part of the Olympic family and the road to Rio has already started.

Last year’s 70s Disco themed London Marriott Sevens was a glorious weekend of non-stop rugby action, plus disco moves, wig waving and flying flares. With a record breaking crowd of 103,000 passing through the turnstiles, surpassing the records set at the 2011 event, 2013 promises to be bigger, better and louder!

The carnival atmosphere generated by the fans in the stands is unrivalled in the rugby calendar; with fancy dress galore, exclusive competitions and lively entertainment. Check out the entertainment pages on RFU.com/londonsevens in the coming months as the plans for the weekend are unveiled. We will also be releasing behind the scenes footage of the players as they get into the spirit of this year’s Safari theme and prepare for a weekend of fast and furious action.

The Marriott London Sevens pits the finest national sevens sides against each other in the 9th and final round of the HSBC Sevens World Series. National Sevens teams compete for points at each round of the Series and the overall champion is crowned in London based on points accumulated throughout the nine events.
