Summer Scents: Diptyque Florabellio

Love London

It's no secret that I'm a total fragrance whore. I own at least 30, with different scents for summer and winter, day and night, work and play - I see no reason why scent can't be worn in the same way as the rest of my wardrobe; I wouldn't wear a full length ballgown to work so why would I choose a heady, musky fragrance for summer frolics in the city?

Diptyque has become one of my go to brands in recent years. As well as the divine L'Ombre dans L'Eau (a favourite for Autumn, a wearable version of the Baies candle) and the amazing Eau Moheli (try it - a deliciously fresh and frisky sumer scent), the newly-launched Florabellio now find itself up their in my top three.

Fresh, invigorating, natural, Florabellio is an olfactory landscape. "A glimpse of nature, a path that leads from the woods to the shore" - I couldn't find a better way of describing it. Salty sea spray mingles with the vegetal bitterness of sea fennel, before developing into a gorgeous core of apple blossom and apricot-scented osmanthus mist. Base notes of roasted coffee with toasted sesame accents result in a juxtaposed scent that blurs the lines between sweet and bitter, fruity and floral, but all along a perfect dose of summer for your skin.

Florabellio Eau de Toilette available in 50ml (£58) and 100ml (£75) available now from Diptyque boutiques including Westbourne Grove, Marylebone High Street and Brook Street, Selfridges, Liberty and online at www.diptyqueparis.co.uk
