The Grand Union is a bar & brasserie set to raise the standards in North London.

Bold & stylish yet welcoming and relaxed, The Grand Union's aim is to appeal to a broad range of clientele; it's unique for Camden town and will be the place to be in Camden this summer and beyond.
Designed in-house with a sophisticated yet relaxed feel with furniture sourced from reclamation yards, auction rooms and vintage junk shops around London, we have created an independent owned lived-in style with chameleon like aspects and areas.

You can be one of the 90 people sitting outside the front drinking a cold Chablis in the glorious sunshine, dine inside the glass room, afternoon tea in the main brasserie area or dance the night away to funk and disco played by seasoned dj's in the lounge bar at the back. (Friday & Saturdays)
We offer an extensive range of drinks from fine wines, champagnes and draft premium beers to a choice of over 25 classic cocktails, all made with fresh fruit and juices by the some of the best in the business.
The Grand Union offers a whole experience, not just another night out on the town! Day or night, business or pleasure, parties or couples, we are confident that we can offer you a night to remember.

Private Hire Available.

All In London Review

American grub is still trendy, but this is a pub serving fast food

The Grand Union group have eight venues dotted around London. The Camden branch often has people spilling out onto the pavement on busy nights, but in the daytime it operates more like a restaurant, with table service. They’ve jumped on the American food bandwagon by offering burgers, sliders, ribs, pizzas and hotdogs, so if you don’t like any of these you’re going to be rather stuck. Well, there are salads, but who walks into a pub and orders a salad?

There is a choice of either chicken or beef patties for the burgers. The grilled chicken burger (£8.50) with guacamole (labelled avocado) is nice, although the bacon could do with crisping up and there’s a disproportionate amount of lettuce spilling out of it. The Dog’s Dinner hotdog (£7.50) has more toppings than sausage: melted Cheddar cheese, bacon, onion rings and BBQ sauce, although you can add an extra frank for £3. It's ideal stoner food.

The “plates” or in other words, the starters, sound a bit like those party selection boxes you find in the freezer section of the supermarket. Cheesy potato skins with bacon, chicken strips with BBQ sauce, you get the picture. We try the deep fried breaded camembert with an overly sweet mango relish, and breaded mushrooms with blue cheese sauce that turns out to be a pot of runny cream. These are £5 each or two for £8, which is a fair bit more than they charge at Tesco.

Grand Union are trying hard to be kooky by filling the place with boudoir-ish mismatched lampshades and furniture; even the unobtrusive lunchtime soundtrack with its mix of UNKLE and 90s dance records seems phony. After all, they’re a pub serving fast food.
