All In London Review
a proper menu and a line-up of big nights
Taken over by the Cat and Mutton, this was bound to get good quick and once the old locals had been run out it filled up with hipsters as quick as you could chalk up a £10.00 burger and chips on the all new gastro style blackboard. You probably won’t find many complaining about the poseurs though, because when you come on a Friday night now it’s only in trepidation of what people are wearing, rather than the fear of giving the wrong person an imagined look at the bar. And, at the bar there’s a good range of beers that includes Red Stripe, Grolsch and San Miguel plus some good ales. Food’s a bigger part of things these days too and the BLT and chips is a good choice, while there’s always a good dish of mussels on offer.
Roots Manuva recently played the pub’s birthday celebration so that should give a little indication of the calibre of names they can attract and at a time when clubs seem to be shutting down faster than ever, it’s good to know that alternatives can always be found.
