Simply the best fish and chips in South East London. I wouldn't hesitate in going one step further and saying it's the best in the entire city. We return regularly.

I am from the States. We found this place on the internet and decided to eat there after our walk thru Greenwich Observatory. It's a little bit out of the way but worth the walk. The owner is very nice and the fish is delicious. The batter is very thin & crispy and the fish, esp the Haddock, is fresh and flaky.

Pre Xmas Panto Fish n Chips with the family, the Fish was fresh not frozen, thoroughly recommend the Rock or the chunky Cod and the Chips were the definition of moreish.
Apart from Military base in Cyprus, my MIL puts it in her lifetime top 3, impossible praise! Seeking out the best Fish n Chips is the holy grail for our family.
Washed down with a pot of tea it was the complete experience.

Cheers lads,Merry Christmas!

Fantastic chippy in Greenwich High Road. The fish was superb and the chips excellent.
Fast service with a full menu
In my opinion a sign of a good fish & chip shop (before you taste the food of course), is they only put salt and vinegar on the chips, then the fish on top; stops batter going soggy.

There are Fish & Chips establishments, and there is The Golden Chippy.

If you are ever anywhere near Greenwich, London, and appreciate GOOD Fish & Chips, then you should give this place a go.

From the start you feel welcome, and you are usually served by the owner!

The food is always fresh and usually cooked on demand. The staff (the owner or family) take REAL pride in service. The prices are also VERY realistic.

If you enjoy fish & chips, fast & friendly service, & great value, try this place.

This place is the best!!! We had a hotel right across the street( Premier Inn) and we ate here almost everyday. We spent an entire week in London!! We just did make it back before the rioting and craziness. Hopefully the Golden chippy will last

Fantastic, friendly Take-Away. Fish is beautiful, fresh and clean. The owner is proud of the food he puts out. Amazing customer service.
We even got to try out some home made Turkish food, made my the owners wife. Very welcoming.
I've tried a few fish and chips stores, but this one is by the far the best. The fish is just so delicious.
Highly recommend it to everyone i know. If you haven't tried it out, what are you waiting for??? GO get some fish and chips today!

The Golden Chippy is the BEST Fish & Chip shop in England, We highly recommend it, especially in the summer, you can sit outside and indulge in a cold glass of wine or beer, its actually better then eating at any of the sea sides in England. Not only is the food fresh and absolutely scrumptious but the service is incredibly friendly. we give this place 20 and of 10..

This is by far and away the best chippy. Our local is just geared for the tourist, rather than the resident. So we travel on over to West Greenwich. It's expensive but worth every penny. Staff are friendly and polite and food is cooked fresh. Cod is chunky and the batter nice and light, Chips are also excellent!
It's a real gem.
