Pound Shop

I bought a foldable dish rack which cost me £6.90 yesterday just before closing time. I opened the plastic package at home and realised one of the disc to hold it up has fallen off before me even unfolding it. I took it back the following day asking to have it exchanged, but the owner shouted at me saying that I probably just broke it myself... The most annoying thing is that the person who sold it to me the day before remembered me, but still the owner didn't allow me to exchange. He said things like "Why didn't you come back yesterday?" and "I will open all the stock here and only if I find another faulty one I can exchange it." I didn't want to deal with such nonsense so didn't make him open all but I now wish I did. I am a kind of person who never ever brings things back to shops or make complaints, I had to because I can't use the faulty item. I was really upset to have been treated like this from the owner.
