Natural Look Dogs

Their grooming service is amazing! I took my 5 month old Bichon x Lhasa for a bit of a tidy up today, he came out looking gorgeous, smelling amazing and most of all wagging his tail at everyone. The price was more than reasonable too. And he was given a cute little bow :-)
I will definitely be coming back when he needs a haircut again.

taras dog grooming and pet shop are brillant...helpful.. friendly and the shop is full and i mean fullllll with pet foods and products....the grooming is fab and i would recommend a visit..

Lovely experience there! Very friendly workers, especially the young blonde girl who works on Saturdays. Very nice and welcoming. However I did walk away with more than intended but hey ho! It's Christmas!!

Having shopped at other well known pet shops and left feeling let down by their customer service,it was great to be greeted with such a warm welcome and excellent service at Taras Village Pets.
Lots of things to choose from and great prices.
Definitely shop there again because she's so friendly A+

when my dog needed surgery because he couldn't walk Jo at Taras helped me endlessly by suggesting ways of keeping him amused. i was so grateful as it was a difficult time. i have visited lots of pet shops and this is my favourite by a mile, great stock and Higgins the resident dog is gorgeous.

I have used Taras almost since the shop has been open, this is quite a few years now. And I have found the service there to be second to none. Nothing is ever too much trouble for Jo and if I need something she doesnt have, she does her best to get it for me, or suggest a suitable alternative. Having moved from Winchmore Hill last year, I prefer to travel the few extra miles to get the quality of service Ive always had every time Ive gone there.

I went into this shop prior to the christmas festivities to ask some adive about a rescue dog I was looking to take on.The imformation I was given was both friendly and useful .I returned to the shop today with my new pal Ernie in tow ready for his first hair cut(well it looked like his first ever hair cut).I have to say he went in scruffy and happy and he came out smart and happy,what a relief . I have to say my whole experiance of this shop and its staff has been quite delightful , we look foward to our return.

I would like to reply to Rudi. I will reiterate what I said earlier and add further comments to clarify as perhaps he has not fully understood what I have said. I have lived in the area for many years. I use my local shops to support their businesses and that is why I was shopping in Tara's. I would not choose to drive up the A10 in traffic to buy supplies and that is why I shop locally. He says it is a small business and damage can be done. It is not my wish to damage a small local business, but this review would not be here if she had not behaved in the way she had. I experienced her unhelpful attitude and rudeness on not one but two occasions, the second and last time the worst, which was the time I mentioned in my earlier email. The fact that another person I met in the park had had the same experience suggests she is like it on other occasions too. Her colleague, and I presume employee, is entirely different, very helpful, friendly and polite and couldn't do enough to help. I note the owner's response to my review. Her attitude was such that I would not have wanted to have been drawn into a conversation with her about her rudeness and I just wanted to leave.

Wow, I have just read the previous review and am shocked. I have used this pet shop ever since it first opened and have also been taking my two dogs there every three months for a shampoo and set and they come out looking amazing and smelling delightful! this is an independent small pet shop and the girls who work there are lovely and so helpful, they always go that extra mile and have sourced things for me and also delivered food if I have been unable to get to the shop and am running out. I too have been to the A10 Super Store and surely it is obvious that the buying power they have must be greater than a small independent, infact I can honestly say that I did not find there was a great deal of difference in price on goods and in some cases they were the same as I pay in Taras. Where would we be without our local shops, our community would die and I for one support them all the way. In this economic climate all small businesses are struggling to stay afloat and working twice as hard to stand still I'm sure, one unpleasant comment like this can do damage that this lovely pet shop certainly DOES NOT DESERVE, I would recommend Taras to everyone out there looking for the complete package.

This is a local shop. I found the owner to be rude, uninterested and unhelpful. I thought she may be having an off-day. I mentioned my experience to someone in the local park and they too had found her to be the same when they took their dog there for grooming. I would expect her, being a small business owner, to go out of her way to be polite and helpful, especially there is now a Pets At Home on the A10, or Jollys in Crews Hill for much cheaper goods which I now use.

We have used Tara's several times to have our dog groomed and he's always come out looking lovely. Great selection of pet foods and really friendly knowledgeable staff.
