Rocket’s Racket Shaped Pizza and Murray Medlar Cocktail

The Wimbledon Tennis Championships are just around the corner (29th June - 12th July 2015) and to mark the occasion Rocket restaurants have created a limited edition “Rachetta” pizza.

Shaped like a tennis racket and complete with “calzone” crust handle this delicious, freshly-baked pizza stays true to the green courts of Wimbledon with scatterings of spinach along with mushrooms, tomatoes, creamy ricotta and Bocconcini (that’s mini mozzarella balls to you and me!) And to quench your thirst after watching all that tennis, Rocket have also mixed up an ingenious cocktail which tastes just like strawberries and cream! A homage to our very own Wimbledon Champion, The Murray Medlar combines freshly muddled strawberries with vanilla vodka, Fraise De Bois, Licor 43 and lemon juice. The perfect pick-me-up on a hot summers day!

The Rachetta Pizza (£11.90) and Murray Medlar Cocktail (£8) will be available at Rocket Holborn, Bishopsgate, The City and Canary Wharf throughout the course of the championships from 29th June - 12th July 2015

Table Tennis at Brew

All set for a scintillating summer of tennis? Well, Brew would like to invite you to attend, and perhaps compete in, a tournament that will be no less exciting than Wimbledon.

Although, we must admit that it will be on a slightly smaller scale. The inaugural Brew Table Tennis Championships will be hosted in the Putney restaurant’s sizeable outdoor terrace, complete with grass, deckchairs for the spectators and even an umpire. It might be tiny tennis on a table with a tiny ball, but don’t doubt that Brew are taking this very seriously! Not only will there be trophies and prizes for both the winner and the runner-up (including a Case of Bollinger and a dinner for two at Brew), but those lucky and skilled enough to make the grand final will have support coming from their very own Murray Mound as Brew broadcast the main event on their big pull down screen.

There will also be beers, burgers and wood-fired pizzas for competitors and spectators alike to enjoy and, this being Brew, some of the very best coffee in the capital. Those with a sweet tooth will also love Brew’s Limited edition Tennis Ball Lamingtons (an Australian delicacy, covered in chocolate and sprinkled with coconut) and their Strawberries & Cream Pancakes (£8.50) served with vanilla syrup and available to buy from 22nd June - 12th July.

The Brew Table Tennis Championships will commence on Tuesday the 9th of June for four weeks, beginning with a round of best-of-three knockout games.
Channel your inner-Bjorn Borg and come along to Brew in Putney. Bookings for the Table Tennis can be made via Brew’s website.

Beyrouths - Middle Eastern restaurant launching in Wimbledon Village

That’s right, just in time for the world’s favourite tennis tournament Beyrouths Cafe will arrive in Wimbledon village with its famously fresh Middle-Eastern food available to sports fans, spectators and foodies alike. They’re also more than ready to “serve” a tennis superstar or two… Everything is made onsite by hand (or “backhand”), with nothing processed, brought in or pre-prepared. During the day there will be tasty wraps and abundant sharing mezzes, with the evening menu switching its focus to gorgeous grilled chicken and succulent lamb dishes. In keeping with the café vibe, a large selection of delightful Middle-Eastern and French Artisan pastries will be available alongside beautifully rich coffee and freshly-squeezed juices and smoothies. But it’s not just about the food… Beyrouths in Wimbledon Village will provide an ambience that is irresistible on a hot, sunny day full of sporting action. With a comfortable and colourful interior, out front pavement seating and a totally blissful garden complete with its own sun trap.

During the Wimbledon fortnight all of the tennis action will be shown at Beyrouths on a number of large screens, so fans are encouraged to create their own mini-Murray Mound and take advantage of the BYOB policy or pre-order from Lebanese wine selection. However, if you prefer something a little more refreshing then check out the Mixed Double offer… purchase a ‘Pink Lemonade’ (Strawberry and Freshly Squeezed Lemon) and your partner will receive one us.

Dolphin Square Rallys Up for Wimbledon with new Afternoon Tea

It’s not only the leafy green south-west suburb of Wimbledon where Londoners can get a taste of the tennis this year - now tennis fans can enjoy the festivities early as Dolphin Square launches a delicious new Afternoon Tea - with a Wimbledon twist.

Created by Chef Jean Jacques Balmain, the culinary mastermind behind the recently launched menu at Dolphin Bar & Grill, the new summer Afternoon Tea will tip its hat to the infamous tennis tournament and will offer guests a selection of decadent pastries, finger sandwiches, scones with jam & clotted cream and - for real tennis fans - an intricately designed tennis ball cake, filled with delicious cream and fresh fruit.

No Wimbledon celebration is complete without a glass of bubbly and guests can upgrade the Wimbledon experience with an ice cold glass of Perrier-Jouët Champagne and, if weather permits, Dolphin Square's outdoor terrace is the ideal spot to sit and enjoy the tea in the sunshine.
