Despite an unprepossessing exterior, this Persian restaurant produces reasonably priced and very tasty dishes, from its largely open kitchen. The ultrafresh flatbreads are made in a traditional bread oven just inside the door - delicious! Most dishes are likely be familiar to anyone who is a fan of Middle Eastern cooking, but all have their own unique twist: for example, from the numerous starters, the aubergine dishes are very good, with interesting smoky flavours but are more finely textured than I'm used to. And there are some less familiar tastes too - always a bonus for the more adventurous diner. They also serve the wonderfully refreshing Persian salted yoghurt drink with the addition a herb or spice I couldn't identify - the generous glassful was just perfect for a very hot day. And it's the first time I've come across the typical regional spice, sumac, available as a table condiment. Staff are friendly and pleasant. Whenever we're in the area we'll return.
