Moomba World Cafe Bar

We arrived for an early breakfast with only three other tables occupied upon which our normal waitress said we could sit where we liked. My wife was getting ready to sit down by the window when the "owner" indignantly asked us, "Excuse me! Where are you going?" She then continued to be extremely rude to us and made us move table as the one we are going to sit at was reserved. As soon as we had moved she went and put a reserved sign on the table. We were quite upset by her rudeness and said to her that we were unhappy about it and would prefer if someone else would wait on us. At this she get extremely rude and then proceeded to just ask us to leave. She also went on to say that she doesn't need more business from us (even though we have been regularly going to that restaurant for a couple of years and have added significantly to their coffers). If this is the way regular customers are treated by the owner then I am extremely sad to have been frequenting the restaurant for so long.

I went to Moomba last Friday for my 35th birthday dinner with 11 other friends and I have to say we were not disappointed with anything. We had three courses each (I had the salmon tempura, beef wellington & banoffee pie) and everything was cooked perfectly and beautifully presented. The staff were so efficient and the owner made us feel welcome. A really lovely lady who obviously cares about her customers. The entire place was full but not once did we feel neglected or have to wait long periods of time for our food or cocktails. A very cool, trendy place that felt warm and welcoming.

Great food, friendly staff, even the music selection is top notch. A decent selection of beers, budvar on tap is always a good sign.
Highly recommended.

I have tried most restraunts/bars in Putney and keep coming back to Moomba. it has a great atmosphere, professional and friendly service and great home cooked food/generous portions. It's also as everyone knows, THE place in Putney for breakfasts and brunches. The place has also been taken up a couple of notches by a recent restyling and looks pretty cool.
