The name comes from the building's history and has a strong influence on the ethos and character of the new restaurant and bar that has been created here. The nineteenth century, furniture-maker owners of numbers 77 and 79 Curtain Road were Adam E. Penkul and George Banks & Son and what has been created on the site today is itself an ode to craftsmanship; the crafting of flavour and striking food. Modern, European tapas is order of the day on the menu, but with Head Chef Matt Bishop having previously spent time in Hong Kong, expect an Asian twist to many of the dishes. The vibe is buzzy and casual, with bookings recommended by walk-ins also welcome.
