I found my experience at Clifton to be excellent. As a Bangladeshi I have grown up eating indian and bangladeshi food so i know how this food should taste. I have to say i have never tasted indian food in any restaurant that has been done so well and which has tasted so good! the menu offers a wide range of dishes which shows how much effort the restaurant has put in to its menu. the food was delivered on reasonable time and the prices were also very good between £3-£9 for mains. i would definitly recommend this place to anyone who wants to have authentic indian food. the atmosphere is nice, the decor is unique, and the staff are very solicituous. i will definitly be coming back with group of friends for birthdays and other occasions!

I am absolutey astounded at the lack of good customer service and incompetancy at this restaurant.

Myself and two friends went to the clifton restaurant on 23 July 2009.
Firstly we were sat at a dirty table. We then had to wait 15 minutes for our drinks order to be taken. The coke was flat and there was no jd in my jd and coke, just the start, we eventually pursuaded them to give us other drinks.
It was another 20 minutes by the time anybody eventually came to take our food order, even though we had asked three of the staff. We were going to leave on a few occasions but really didn't want to look for anywhere else and so just wanted to eat.
when ordering one of us asked for a starter and two of us ordered a main but asked for it all to come together, another 20 minutes later and there was only the starter, we had to wait another half an hour before two of us got our main. we had also ordered a take away of three meat dishes, two rice and a potato dish....oh why did we not check it!!
When we got back home (other side of London) we realised that they had foolishly given us the wrong order, and it was only two meat dishes and two naan bread, much less than we had paid for. well you can imagine our frustration and anger.
i have just tried to call them to complain, only to find out that it seems to be a fax number and so cannot get to speak to anyone or to leave a message.
So, my advice is to steer well clear
Have your say
