Richard Corrigan welcomes back the natives

Live music, masterclasses and a complimentary Oyster Tasting Plate with bookings made on Wednesday 10th September


September marks the start of the native season, one of the highlights of the culinary calendar at Richard Corrigan’s Bentley’s Bar and Grill off Piccadilly.

With any lunch or dinner booking made on Wednesday 10th September, guests will be welcomed with live music and a receive a complimentary oyster plate, complete with Bloody Mary shot. The half dozen selection will include both rock and natives, served raw and cooked, including ‘Rockefeller’, Tempura, Garlic baked, ‘Catalan’, and just on their own with classic dressings such as shallot, Tabasco or just a squeeze of lemon.

Regular shellfish and oyster masterclasses run throughout the year, with the next scheduled oyster class for Saturday 13th September. Expect to shuck and eat your way through British and Irish oysters, followed by a refreshing glass of fizz and a three course lunch with paired wines; leaving with a healthy goody bag. Celebrating 100 years in 2016, Richard Corrigan took over the reins in 2006 injecting new life into Bentley’s Bar and Grill and cementing its reputation as one of London’s most loved seafood restaurants. Up to 1000 oysters are shucked daily at the bar by Richard’s dedicated team of ‘Oyster Boys’. This Oyster celebration on the 10th September is not only welcoming oyster lovers, but novices too, encouraging them to bite the bullet and try these delicacies for the first time, knowing that they could not be a better hands!

Reservations made on Wednesday 10th September only will receive a celebratory Oyster Tasting Plate per person when quoting ‘Oyster Festival’. Subject to availability and seating times, book by calling 020 7734 4756

Oyster masterclasses: 10:30am to 2:30pm. £120 per person. Includes oyster shucking and tastings, glass of champagne, three course meal with wine pairings. Guests take away a goody bag, recipe cards and an oyster knife. The next class is Saturday 13th September.
