Having taken the world by storm, master clown Trygve Wakenshaw brings his award-winning show SQUIDBOY to the Soho Theatre from 22 – 26 July 2014.

Winner Best Performance Auckland Fringe 2013 and nominated for a Total Theatre Award, SQUIDBOY has been hailed “the cult show of the Fringe” (Fringe Review). New Zealand born Trygve is an award-winning physical performer who studied at Ecole Philippe Gaulier, the prestigious Paris clown school with alumni including Sasha Baron-Cohen, Emma Thompson, Dr Brown (Philip Burgers) and founding members of renowned companies Complicite and Spymonkey. Wakenshaw’s unique style combines mime, physical theatre and slapstick humour in a “masterful… wonderfully absurd” (Fest Magazine) solo show.

SQUIDBOY is a surreal cosmos where a squid eats invisible crisps and plays fetch with an imaginary dog. It sounds mad, and it is! Over the course of the show, layer upon layer of unreality is revealed creating “the Fringe’s most wonderfully absurd illusionary universe” (Fest Magazine).
