From London we’ve got AJ Holmes and The Hackney Empire and The Bros, and from Sheffield, K.O.G and The Zongo Brigade. All conspire to get your feet moving and hips shaking all night at Hootananny.

AJ Holmes and The Hackney Empire:
Afro-Pop meets East London Tropical

From the depths of Hackney come a band that are taking over the world with their unique blend of Afro pop with a home grown British sensibility. They are A.J. Holmes and The Hackney Empire. Their music hangs over classic London narratives in the vein of Ian Dury and Squeeze, they have created a feel-good soundtrack for 21st century tropical pearly kings and queens. Influenced by the capital's rich cultural melting pot, where Africa meets London and falls in love. Fusing wildly different genres of music together with such a deft hand that you'd think they had always walked hand in hand.

K.O.G and The Zongo Brigade:
Hip-shaking, foot stomping West African rhythms

Fronted by the infamous K.O.G, this 9 piece collective brings you the best hip-shaking, foot stomping West African rhythms the U.K has to offer. Fresh off the back of their UK tour in support of the incredible 7 track Akwaaba Live EP, the band have been voted runners up in Glastonbury's own Emerging Talent Competition, guaranteeing them a main stage slot at the festival. This, along with a whole host of festival slots including Soundwave Croatia, Boomtown Fair, Kendal Calling and Eden Festival to name but a few, guarantees them to be one of the hottest bands of the summer.

The Bros:
Afro-Brazil Reggae skank

Kicking off the night we’ve got 3 Piece Brazilian Reggae band, The Bros. Julio Cesar Sanhaco, Jamiro Oliveira Jr, and Marcos Santana serve up some afro-brazilian flavours.
As always Movimentos DJs keep the room jumping.

DJ MAM:
Funky Brasileira direct from Rio

Straight off the plane from Rio, we have Alex Moreia aka DJ MAM bringing his distinct upbeat sound, rooted deep in Brazilian music. Expect very funky drums and horns.

Artists : AJ HOLMES and THE HACKNEY EMPIRE, K.O.G and THE ZONGO BRIGADE, THE BROS, DJ MAM.
