A lethal clash between two lives, two truths and two dreams in this explosive re-imagining of Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic novella

Hyde is a legendary motivational speaker and professional provocateur, a twenty-first century superstar adored by all. For a fee she can bring her clients’ dreams to life onstage. Jekyll is a lonely person and, like all lonely people, she knows this. Drawn towards the promise of total liberation that Hyde has to offer, Jekyll soon becomes obsessed with her latest idol. When Hyde meets her number one fan, their collision brings the curtain down.

An ensemble cast of seven actors present this multi-layered story at a breakneck pace with a confrontational theatricality, blending heightened physical performances, projection and open-ended audience interaction. Devised alongside writer Howard Coase, this dark drama sets out to revel in extremities.

Hypnotist Theatre Company is a student-run theatre company based in Oxford committed to producing high quality experimental theatre that is uncomfortable, provocative and challenging. Their Edinburgh Festival Fringe production last year, Grimm, received rave reviews.
