In August, Faber Social will be teaming up with our friends The Quietus, to bring you a night of ‘Whisky & Cigarettes’. Offering a gathering of exceptional writers who will discuss music, words and vices.

Joining us will be John Doran, John Niven, DBC Pierre & Wyndham Wallace. We also welcome Keeley Forsyth to play live.

Writer and co-founder of The Quietus, John Doran’s reading of Jolly Lad details alcoholism, substance abuse but also the healing power of music, and the redemption of fatherhood. Based loosely on his column, MENK, crafted for VICE Magazine, the book concentrates on music, memory and the meaning of working class.

John Niven, author of Kill Your Friends, has been translated in seven languages and his journalistic contributions to magazines include a monthly column in Q Magazine.

DBC Pierre, Man Booker Prize-winning author, has been published in over 40 countries worldwide and been adapted for theatre in London.

Music journalist, Wyndham Wallace, writes regularly for Uncut, The Quietus and Classic Pop. Wallace’s first book, titled Lee, Myself & I, navigates his time with legendary singer-songwriter Lee Hazlewood.

Keeley Forsyth is a singer and vocalist described as 'the bastard love child of Peggy Lee and Nico' by co-collaborators Eccentronic Research Council. She brings together elements of dark, twisted folk tales and sea shanties with industrial pop, musical theatre flavours that create a unique presence on stage.

This evening is sure to be a lot of dark, twisted fun. We hope you can join us.
