Join the Friends of Forty Hall Park, the Funky Festival Company and Art Start as they present the Butterfly Ball at Forty Hall.
A family fundraising festival in aid of conservation and community arts.
Workshops include:
Decorate a drum or shaker to join in the Parade.
Make a graceful dragonfly with shiny streamers.
Make antennae bug head-boppers.
Colour in your own pet insect.
Family activities throughout the day:
Go on a Bug Hunt to collect specimens from the grounds and view through giant magnifying glasses.
Create a Giant Snail Mosaic from stones, leaves and sticks.
Leave messages to protect our bees on a giant Honeycomb Wall
Help Raggy Caterpillar to grow with ribbons rags and streamers.
Insect leaders will be leading fun games throughout the day, including:
Snail Racing
Hopping School
Dragonfly Training
Storytelling with our Master of Ceremonies
The Caterpillar Parade. 4.30pm
Meet at the Giant Caterpillar to share with everyone everything that you’ve made throughout the day. The Caterpillar Parade will be led by Insect Leaders
The Butterfly Ball. 5pm
At the end of the day, you have made many wondrous things, and darkness is starting to fall,
It’s time for the magic, you’re dressed in your finest, come join in The Butterfly Ball.
