Find Your Faux France with Pétanque on the Square

Love London

The government may have put a stop on any further late summer sojourns across the channel, but one can embrace the spirit with Sloane Square's Parisian restaurant Colbert and its ‘Pétanque on the Square’ pop up in partnership with Lillet, the premium French apéritif from Bordeaux.

While the chances of enjoying a crisp cocktail in a real French square are slim, at least without a strict two week quarantine on your return, the Sloane Square pop up is the perfect pit stop to enjoy the last weeks of summer, with a crisp, cold Lillet serve in hand accompanied by some delicious French nibbles and a round of Pétanque.

The Lillet cocktail menu will offer a mix of spritz serves, from the classic ‘Lillet Blanc Spritz’, a blend of Lillet Blanc and tonic, or the fruitier flavours of the ‘Lillet Citrus Spritz’, ‘Lillet Rosé Spritz’ or the ‘Lillet Pamplemousse Spritz’.

The refreshing wine-based apéritif with a fruity, floral taste, is best served as a Spritz or on ice with an orange garnish. Established in 1872 in the wine cellars of Podensac (a small village South of Bordeaux), it is prepared by cellar masters still using the same 19th century techniques today. Adding a splash of red and white French chic to the heart of Chelsea, Lillet and Colbert’s ‘Pétanque on the Square’ is open until 14th September.

12-9pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, 12-9:30pm on Saturdays and 12-8pm on Sundays. No booking is required.
