LE PERFECT PICNIC FROM LE PAIN QUOTIDIEN

Love London

I'm sure we have all fallen victim to the last minute summer picnic of a packet of mini scotch eggs and a slightly tepid prosecco. With warm weather finally here and three months (hopefully...) of sunny park weekends stretched ahead of us given we can't get our kicks abroad yet, be the star of the piche-niche show this summer and elevate your al fresco dining situ with one of the rather epic new picnic boxes from Le Pain Quotidien.

Now as one of London's favourite cafés anyway it should come as no surprise that their picnic offering is a cut above the rest. They made-to-order 'Picnic In One Click' boxes are available for collection from the bakeries or delivery straight to the park and can be instantly ordered to any public place through Deliveroo or by simply scanning the QR code from another diner's box.

At £38, the Picnic Box for two is full of freshly-made salads, sandwiches, dips, daily bread, patisserie, cold-pressed juices, cutlery, plates and glasses, while you can also add Prosecco, wine and beer as an optional extra. With everything either fully recyclable or compostable, there's no guilt to be had with the packaging either.

We indulged in a gloriously sunny Bank Holiday picnic last week with salmon brioches, mint, pea and asparagus open sandwiches, a salmon nicoise salad and a to die for strawberry tart and meringue with summer fruits, all stunningly created and almost too pretty to eat.

Whether plumping for a romantic meal in the park or out and about exploring, skip the faff of finding somewhere to eat and make the food come to you. It was a delicious start to an al fresco summer season; may it be the first of many! And what's more, on 18th June, to celebrate International Picnic Day, Le Pain Quotidien will offer 15% off the ‘Picnic in One Click’ boxes.
