THE SEAFOOD BAR COMES TO SOHO!

Love London

If you're a fan of seafood, you will no doubt already have London's latest pescatarian palace on your radar. Straight out of The Netherlands,  The Seafood Bar has opened its first UK outpost - and first site outside of Holland - on Soho's Dean Street and we were among the first through the door to sample it wares on Thursday evening.

Goodness gracious. Crustaceans galore, molluscs aplenty, and more delicious fishies that you can shake a rod at. We sampled half a dozen fresh oysters to start, followed by some utterly delicious garlicky, buttery prawns accompanied with plenty of bread for mopping purposes. Then comes the platter... half from the upstairs cold seafood bar, half from the downstairs hot kitchen, and oh, what a platter it was. From vibrant lobster and melt in the mouth squid, to perfect fillets of salmon and sea bass, the tastiest spider crab we've had in a while, brown crab, prawns, langoustine, mussels, clams, crab salad, sea snails (the only thing we didn't get along with...) and more with all the trimmings (which in fish land means samphire, marie rose sauce and more garlic butter...) it was a FEAST to behold.

While the menu isn't just platters, encompassing individual dishes of course, we can heartily recommend it if you want to really sample the best of what The Seafood Bar has to offer. It really was exceptional. Book yourself a table, it's set to be London's hottest new nightspot.
