London is Funny's week in comedy gigs (w/c June 7)

London's Comedy Blog

Hello comedy fans!

More recommendations for you coming up, but first to let you know what's been happening at London is Funny Towers last week, we had a review of former MP Lembit Opik's first ever gig, an introduction to highly promising new comic James Acaster, our Top Twenty Gigs for June and a video spoofing Apple, made by Adam Buxton, from Adam and Joe fame.

Right, you want comedy? Well check these out:

1) "Knock2Bag" at the Tabernacle centre in Notting Hill has an excellent line-up, with Stewart Lee and some cracking support, including Edinburgh Newcomer Award winner Tom Basden and rising star Seann Walsh. (Tuesday)

2) At the Paradise pub in Kilburn, you can see the superb Paul Sinha perform an Edinburgh preview, plus LiF favourite and dapper Glaswegian Stephen Carlin for just £5. (Wednesday)

3) The Fix's latest night at the Camden Head (Camden) features Edinburgh Comedy Award winner Tim Key, top sketch duo Cardinal Burns and the wonderfully rogueish Carl Donnelly. (Thursday)

4) Old hand Bob Mills, young buck Seann Walsh and Gordon Southern descend on the legendary Bedford pub in Balham. (Friday)

5) The legendary Comedy Store packs off some of its regular performers to the Udderbelly on the south bank. (Saturday)

So good luck with that lot. Many more listings in your area and in town can be found at www.londonisfunny.com.

See you next week,

Paul
